Prague Airport (PRG) Information: Picture of horse and carriage rideA large facility with a total of four terminals, Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG) handles flights to and from a vast number of almost 100 international cities, as well as to a number of domestic Czech locations. Ruzyne Airport is situated around 20 km / 12 miles to the west of central Prague and is sandwiched between Kladno and the Battle of White Mountain.

Prague Ruzyne Airport is also a hub for Czech Airlines (CSA), who operate more flights than any other carrier at the airport. Low-cost airlines also account for a significant 30 percent share of the overall market. Total annual passenger traffic stands at more than 11 million and with regular Airbus and Boeing flights, these figures are set to rise even closer to Ruzyne Airport's total capacity of 15 million passengers.

Public buses run to downtown Prague, including buses operated by both the Prague Transit Company and Airport Express, while the airport minibus service run by CEDAZ also travels to popular locations. Bus tickets can be purchased from nearby vending machines and also at various newspaper kiosks. Hotel shuttles, taxis and limousines are also available.

About Prague Tourism

Prague has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, with its charming medieval centre where churches and ancient courtyards are overlooked by a 1,100-year-old castle. The Czech Republic's number one city is packed with traditional cobbled streets and fine examples of medieval architecture, particularly around the Old Town Square, the city's focal point. Although many tourists favour chain hotels in the New Town District (Nove Mesto), others looking for a more authentic experience may like to consider one of the Prague apartments based within the historical Malá Strana area, where the best overlook the Vltava River and the distinctive Karluv Most (Charles Bridge).

Just 20 minutes from Ruzyne Airport (PRG), Prague Castle is undoubtedly the city's most popular attraction and it is allegedly the world's biggest ancient castle. Here visitors will find interests such as the Spanish Hall, the Rudolf Gallery and the Gothic-style St. Vitus Cathedral. With its reputation for fine brewing techniques, beer lovers will also find Prague a true haven.
